January 6th. What a day. I’ve never seen, or felt, anything like that before, and I hope I never will again.
If you, like me, felt completely absorbed into American politics for a while… then how about we give you a short break… a chance to go back in time.
What if we just go back to December and early January when things were a little calmer and uncomplicated, and the only thing we needed to worry about keeping safe from was the pandemic.
I’ve created this Course Update video with that in mind. I want you to try and remember the joy, the peace, and the ease of the holidays. I want to invite you to think about the things that make you happy and remember that keeping things simple for now is probably a great strategy for all of us.
In this week’s Insights Video I’m taking you back in time to our family’s holiday period, when we just relaxed, explored the simple things in life, and enjoyed each other.
So, here are a few vignettes of our holiday season… and you can see what modern Pagans do around Christmas time.
In this video, we’ll look at:
- 0:30 – Cookie-baking! (Oh, the SUGAR we consumed – YUM!)
- 0:49 – How a modern Pagan family celebrates the holidays (and what that actually means)
- 1:39 – Yule vs. Christmas – and how we keep the best of our childhoods for our Pumpkin
- 2:25 – We did New Year’s Eve a little differently (countdown to NOON, balloons and all!)
- 2:48 – Staying safe and holding still with nature walks, baking bread, and snow-gazing.
If you want to go back in time before political drama to enjoy a glimpse of some basic holiday joys, then this video is for you.
Warmly,
Erin
