We take a lot for granted, right? Especially the things closest to us.
Like the people we love. Our own bodies. And the place where we live.
I think that’s one of the biggest lessons we’ve learned from Covid – that we can’t take ANYTHING for granted.
We can live in a town our whole lives and never actually really see it or know it.
And then tourists will arrive and tell you all about your own backyard. Crazy right?
Well, that’s exactly what we did this month. Fully vaccinated and sporting a new haircut, I went out into the warmer weather, with my family, to explore the place where I’ve lived for decades.
In this very confused world, it’s so important to reconnect with the small things.
The things that bring you closer to you. Closer to home.
In this week’s Insights Video, I’m inviting you to get an up-close look at my home world of Cape Ann, Massachusetts.
I also throw in a super-fun app you can use to explore YOUR world even more, and how we deal with living in limbo (a place I’m intimately familiar with).
In this video, you’ll learn:
- 0:44 – Where you can donate those long Covid locks after your first haircut since lockdown started
- 1:20 – What the town of Salem looks like at start of summer
- 3:24 – An interactive app that will take you on tours of areas nearby – even places you think you know WELL
- 5:09 – How beautiful beaches, lighthouses, and castles are in Gloucester.
- 6:32 – Where we’re going next… (oh, man, this is complicated)
Take ten minutes to relax and experience the magic of lilacs, beaches, castles and seeing the familiar differently.
And then go and explore your own backyard.
Warmly,
Erin
