My copywriter has a daily ritual that she swears by and doesn’t let anything stand in the way of her doing it.
She gets up pretty early, does some business development for two hours, and then does 30 minutes of exercise. It can be yoga, a HIIT class, some cardio, whatever.
And THEN she’s good to work.
Nothing gets in her way. Not deadlines. Not last-minute jobs. Not money. NOTHING. (And she loves money. She loves it a lot.)
I’ll bet you if I emailed her at 6am and said, “Hey, I need this done in two hours,” she’d be like “Erin, have you gone lost your damn mind? You know that is never going to happen.” (Obviously I would never do that to any of my team, but you know what I’m saying.)
She is committed to that routine as a toddler is to creating a chaos of toys in your house.
And here’s why:
It’s her ritual. It’s her time to regroup and reconnect with her business and herself so that she can do her best work for the rest of the day.
It centers her.
It calms her.
It helps her breathe.
The benefits are many.
In this week’s Insights video we’re looking at daily rituals and why cultivating your own is so important for self care. As digital nomads, it’s important to have a certain level of predictability and rhythm in life. It makes your freedom taste that much sweeter.
In this video, you’ll learn:
- 0:20 – Change in physical environment can cause more confusion and chaos than we expect
- 1:32 – You ALREADY have daily routines and habit patterns (trust me, they are everywhere)
- 2:13 – How to craft those habit patterns so you’re taking BETTER care of your personal energy (and why that is so important)
- 3:06 – The perfect times of the day to craft your rituals and improve your energy
- 4:28 – The less obvious times of the day you can craft rituals (and get you ready for work, procrastination-free!)
- 6:43 – My advice for starting to successfully implement a new ritual in your life (no pressure, just more awareness and space for you)
It’s time to improve how you manage your energy and figure out a ritual that you can turn to wherever you are in the world.
If you’re ready to bring more awareness and intention to your life, this is for you, Freedom-Lover.
Warmly,
Erin
