She asked me if I had a gun.
I mean, ME? Honestly? I wanted to say to her, “Dude, if you knew me and you knew how much I can’t abide guns…you wouldn’t be asking that really stupid question.:
But she was a Canadian border officer. So…I couldn’t do that.
This happened on our most recent international adventure, which was driving into Canada for a long-weekend in Vancouver back in 2019 (pre-Covid).
The agent was VERY interested and persistent in asking about whether we had any guns in our car (Glory… anyone who knows me, knows that I have zero tolerance for guns around children particularly mine, and therefore will never ever own a gun or allow one within reach of my Pumpkin).
But as someone who travels a lot, encounters like this happen.
Angry border officers appear. Bizarre food is negotiated. Weather gets cursed at times.
The dream and the reality of being a traveling entrepreneur sometimes don’t quite align.
Heck, just being an entrepreneur can be downright hard! Right?
The thing is…we know that we’re going to be faced with challenges.
AND, we know that we’re going to learn and grow from them. But only if we’re in touch with one very important thing.
