I’ve been living the location-independent lifestyle for over two years. My family and I have lived all over the US and moved many times.
But this time was different.
In part because I’m in the third trimester of my pregnancy, and we had to move from Gloucester to Florida knowing that soon we will have a whole new person in our family.
So, packing looked different this time. A lot different. Same car. More stuff. Less flexibility. But we did it!
Our trip down to Florida has filled my heart more than I can say.
After the solitude of the pandemic, we’ve been able to see friends and family and spend time with people we love.
We’ve celebrated birthdays, a birth (not our new daughter’s yet!), and the simple pleasures in life, lockdown-free.
It’s truly been a blessing.
In this week’s Insights video I take you all the way from Gloucester, MA to Florida, along beaches, through gorgeous towns, and just missing a tropical storm.
In this video, you’ll learn:
- 1:14 – Why this transition was rather more challenging than some of our previous ones … on SEVERAL fronts.
- 2:36 – What happens when you need to change your domicile address as a digital nomad (Here’s more info about choosing a domicile state as a digital nomad, if you’re curious.)
- 4:15 – Our week-long stop-over in Connecticut for some family fun (including beach visits, birthdays, family, and all the feel-good things that make your heart full)
- 6:01 – Where we’ll be living AT SOME POINT in the future (it is Cute with a capital C)
- 8:12 – A cameo from my little friend! (too tiny and sweet for words)
- 9:02 – Why doing the paperwork RIGHT can can make a huge difference when it comes to being location-independent
- 11:13 – What it’s like to arrive in your new hometown at the same time as a tropical storm
If you’re wondering what it’s like to be truly location-independent, the good, the tricky, and the totally satisfying, then this is for you.
Warmly,
Erin
