Ever done a hot yoga class?
It’s SO not my thing, but our recent walk for almost 2 miles around St. Augustine, FL… in August, while 9 months pregnant… yeah, I think that’s about the closest I’m ever likely to come.
You’re hit by the hot air like it’s a wall. It’s a lot. You start to sweat, and you feel it trickling down every crevice you didn’t realize you had.
Since I, myself, don’t do hot yoga. I’ve never understood that kind of heat. The kind that makes you want to claw your way out of your own body. Until now.
There’s no denying it… I am sweating, Freedom-Lover. We’re in Florida, in August. I’m HUGE, and it is as hot as the inside of a pair of leggings in a 104-degree yoga class.
Drama, much? Maybe.
But that’s what spending my third trimester in the swampy Florida heat can do to you. (Particularly, when you’re trying to avoid indoor public spaces… aka where the AC is… due to Covid.)
OTHER than that, however, our new home is being SO good to us.
And I’d love you to see what we’ve been up to in the last few weeks!
In this week’s Insights video I’m taking you to the beach, on our trip to St. Augustine, and sharing my secrets of how we find “stuff” for a new baby without getting attached to or investing hardcore in tons more STUFF.
In this video, you’ll learn:
- 0:50 – What the Funky Pelican is all about (and other gorgeous beach spots for dining and AWESOME father/daughter time)
- 1:57 – What normality looks like (remember normality?)
- 2:17 – How to adventure in St. Augustine like real treasure hunters
- 4:32 – Preparing for our new family arrival… and my strategy for my fellow nomad mamas
- 5:35 – What you can expect from this family of FOUR next month
Ready to go on a Florida adventure (virtually… so you can skip the swampy heat)?
This is for you. Enjoy!
Warmly,
Erin
