You know when you read a book, or watch your favorite long-running TV show and it ends?
It’s the worst, right?
Because, even though they aren’t real, you feel connected to those characters… you feel part of a story; something bigger…and when it ends, you know that you’re going to have to put your time and energy and trust into becoming part of a new story, connecting with new characters.
And that, Freedom-Lover, can be really HARD.
Desire for connection is something that is part of the human condition. We need it for our own pleasure, but also for the sake of our mental and emotional health. Because when our emotional and mental health are jeopardized, honey, our work is going to take a hit. Bottom line?
Social connection is good for business.
It’s less than ideal, then, that as location-independent entrepreneurs, the one thing we often struggle with the most is that loss of connection.
Yup, Freedom-Lover. I get it. When we move to a new and unusual place, we often feel completely isolated – even when we’re surrounded by people.
And the global pandemic has made it even worse:
No moreplay-dates, family visits, hugs, hanging out on the couch, chatting…our social lives look very different.
But, here’s the thing: You are a brave and brilliant superhero. All entrepreneurs are. We have powers that very few other people have. Our curiosity and our problem-solving skills come naturally. Where there’s a gap, we can fill it. When something’s broken, we can fix it.
We are masters of innovation.
Sometimes all you need is alittle guidance so you can reconnect with your superpower. Which is exactly what this week’s Insights Video will give you.
This week we take a look at how to pivot when we’re feeling a little too isolated for comfort. Answering these questions, along with your problem-solving superpowers, will refill those emotional tanks of energy, andkick start new connections.
In this video, we’ll look at:
  • 1:05 – Getting REAL about this year, and how truly difficult it has been (OMG, how difficult has it been?)
  • 2:06 – The gap we need to fill right now (HINT: it’s time to get gap-curious)
  • 2:39 – Four questions we can answer RIGHT NOW to get our butts into connection gear
If you’re a digital nomad who craves connection, and who wants to develop the super power that’ll refuel that emotional energy, then don’t miss this!
Warmly,
Erin
