You know when you meet THE ONE?
They complete you.
They fill your life with goodness.
They make you wonder how you ever lived without them?
And then they LEAVE.
Yeah, that’s what happened to me in 2007.
Her name was Roshann. She came into my life right when I needed her, and she made everything better. She was my assistant, and I will never forget what she helped me to accomplish.
But eventually, Roshann and I had to part ways.
This taught me a really important lesson. Just like Roshaan moved on from me, it was okay that my business moved on from her.
Some hires are going to last longer than others. What you need to know is how to recognize the difference between hiring for a permanent, ongoing role vs a transitional role.
That’s exactly what today’s Insights Video is all about.
If you’re thinking of hiring, you need to know exactly why you’re hiring and what role you need that person to fill in your business: are you looking for someone to fill a long-term position, or a transitional hire who can help your business through a growth period.
In this video we look at:
- 0:49 – The first time I realized that some hires weren’t forever
- 2:23 – What actually is a “transitional hire” (here’s a real-life example for you)
- 4:50 – Who you should REALLY be hiring for
- 5:13 – How to avoid a whole lotta pain
You’re a Visionary CEO, and that means you’re going to be hiring people for various roles in your business.
The key is to remember what’s best for what your business needs… right now.
Warmly,
Erin
